At Parkside we have always supported our Pharmacy colleagues who are experts in medicines, how they work and what conditions they treat. We are delighted to inform our patients about the Pharmacy Minor Ailments Scheme which offers Croydon residents access to medicines, health advice and treatment from their local pharmacy without requiring any prescriptions or vouchers.
To take part in the scheme, simply go to your local Pharmacy and ask the Pharmacist for medication under the Minor Ailments Scheme.
Pharmacists are able to provide you with medicines for minor conditions free of charge if you are normally exempt from prescription charges. If you are not exempt from prescription charges, you will pay the normal over-the counter charge to the pharmacy. Minor Ailments covered include:
Diarrhoea
Hay Fever
Headlice
Indigestion/heartburn
Insect bites and stings
Mouth Ulcers
Sprains
Sore throat
Teething
Vaginal Thrush
Of course, the pharmacist can also refer you back to your GP if more treatment or investigation is required.
