Nurses & Healthcare Assistants
We have a team of part-time practice nurses, Sisters Jane Tibble and Sarah England. In addition to all the usual nursing skills they have all undertaken further specialised training in a number of fields and play a key role in the management and treatment of the following:
- Asthma
- Diabetes
- Hypertension
- Coronary Heart Disease
- COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
- Cerebrovascular Disease (Strokes and TIAs)
- Peripheral Vascular Disease
- Smears
- Childhood and Adult Vaccinations
- Foreign Travel Advice and Vaccinations
- Leg Ulcers and Wounds (excluding suturing)
- Diet, Weight Control and Exercise
- Ear Syringing
Our team also consists of our two Healthcare Assistants, Carly Broad and Eman Hawa who take blood at the request of our doctors and assist in some of our specialised clinics, such as Diabetes. Carly & Eman also undertake blood pressure checks; ear syringing; routine weighing and ECGs.
