How to Request a Home Visit
If you are incapacitated or too ill to come to the surgery, you can request a home visit. It at all possible, please ring before 10am so the doctors can plan their visits for the day. When you ring you may be put through to the duty doctor or be asked for some medical details. If you need an immediate visit please tell the telephonist but remember, in the case of severe chest pain, collapse, unconsciousness or severe bleeding, it may be appropriate to call 999 for an ambulance.
It is usually possible to have a more complete and effective consultation in the surgery so please try to attend here whenever possible. It is estimated that in the time taken for an average home visit, including travelling, a GP could see up to five patients in the surgery. If you would like to request a non-urgent home visit, please contact us.
